Dalriada We sailed with our friends Ian (70) and Margaret (71) Steel, who live in Verona, NJ but keep their boat at the Noank Shipyard. We spent our first two nights at a mooring at Block Island.

Although the boat(J120 "Dalriada") is roomy and has alot of comforts of home, I found myself hitting my head on everything! We cooked on board at Block and had some friends come on board. The weather was great.

On Sunday, we sailed/motored to Menemsha, Martha's Vineyard......8 hours. Not too much to see except water! I loved Menemsha and I have a restored sense of the American family. The kids were so well behaved and had a ball fishing and crabbing off the beach and rocks....and their parents were enjoying their children, too! We had a tough time getting into the dock because of wind and current.........however, with all the helping hands ashore, we got in.

On Monday we took one of the island buses (a great system) - plus we are now "senior citizens" and got the discount!! - to Edgartown. Had a great lunch on the water and did some shopping. For dinner we had lobster rolls, clam chowder/lobster bisque and just relaxed. The temperature had dropped about 20 degrees and the wind was howling - continued for about 10 hrs.............so, we stayed at the dock for another day (cancelled our sail to Cuttyhunk).
